The Thirteenth (13th) Chapter of President’s Achievers’ Award (Anugerah Pencapaian Cemerlang Ke-13 – UPSR 2014)
MIED has been precisely implementing various programs for the academic development of Tamil schools including infrastructure enhancement schemes since its inception till now. One of its persistent effort is to acknowledge and reward the UPSR SJK(T) students with outstanding academic achievements. By honoring these UPSR achievers, MIED hopes to encourage them to strive towards greater heights, besides motivating more and more youngsters to excel in their studies.
The President’s Achievers’ Award, now in its 13th year, was held successfully under the auspicious of YBhg Dato’ Seri Utama S. Samy Vellu, Special Envoy to India and South Asia on Infrastructure and Chairman of MIED. The 13th President’s Achievers’ Award for students who scored straight 7As in the UPSR Examination 2014 took place on 4th April 2015 at the Merdeka Hall, PWTC. The event was graced by distinguished guests and parents from various states in the country.
In his addressing speech, YBhg Dato’ Seri Utama congratulated all the award recipients, their families and dedicated headmasters and teachers from Tamil schools all over Malaysia.
At this function, YBhg Dato’ Seri Utama presented cash incentives of RM500 and certificate each to 1007 Tamil school students who had scored straight A’s in a total of 7 subjects in the year 2014 UPSR examination. At the same time, Dato’ Seri Samy Vellu congratulated the parents of these students, their headmasters and teachers for providing the necessary support and guidance in order for these students to achieve such excellent results.
Along with the students, 241 Tamil school headmasters were also honored with a pewter trophy as a special recognition.

Top Tamil Schools Achieving Exemplary Results
The 3 best top achieved schools, namely SJK (T) Taman Tun Aminah, SJK (T) Masai and SJK (T) Simpang Lima, were presented with a plague and a mock cheque amounting RM7,000, RM5,000, RM3,000 each respectively.
Meanwhile, a total of 3 schools with more than 20 straight 7A achievers, were given a token of RM2,000 worth cheque with a pewter trophy.
