The Sixteenth ( 16th) Chapter of President’s Achievers’ Award (Anugerah Pencapaian Cemerlang Ke–16 UPSR 2017)
MIED has been precisely implementing various programs for the academic development of Tamil Schools including infrastructure enhancement schemes since its inception till now. One of its persistent effort is to acknowledge and reward the UPSR SJK(T) students with outstanding academic achievements. By honoring these UPSR achievers, MIED hopes to encourage them to strive towards greater heights, besides motivating more and more youngsters to excel in their studies. This year MIED has took initiative to award the students who have successfully obtained 8As in UPSR 2017 which emphasizes on communication, values, humanity, physical and aesthetical development & science and development compared to past year UPSR examination.
The President’s Achievers’ Award, now in its 16th year, was held successfully under the auspicious of Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun S.Samy Vellu, Special Envoy to India and South Asia on Infrastructure and Chairman of MIED. The 16th President’s Achievers’ Award for students took place on 18th March 2018 at the HGH Convention Centre. The event was graced by distinguished guests and parents from various states in the country.
In his addressing speech, Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun has congratulated all the award recipients, their families and dedicated headmasters and teachers from Tamil Schools all over Malaysia.
At this function, Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun presented cash incentives of RM500, certificates and pewter each to 207 Tamil School students who had scored straight 8As. At the same time, Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun congratulated the parents of these students, their headmasters and teachers for providing the necessary support and guidance in order for these students to achieve such excellent results.
Along with the students, 100 Tamil School headmasters were also honored with pewter and MIED certificates as a special recognition.

Outstanding Curriculum Achievers
To encourage the development of a young person’s skills and capacities in every dimension of Co-Curriculum programme, for 2nd time, MIED has recognized the Tamil School students whom have participated internationally and successfully obtained award and prizes in the year of 2017. A total of 109 students were chosen all over the states and were presented of cash incentives of RM500, etching medals and MIED certificates by YBhg Dato’ Seri Utama.
Top Tamil Schools Achieving Exemplary Results
The 3 best top schools for achieving exemplary results, namely SJK (T) Simpang Lima, SJK (T) Yahya Awal followed by SJK (T) Tun Aminah, were presented with gold pewter and mock cheque amounting RM7,000, RM5,000, and RM3,000 each respectively.
