Since its establishment in 1984, MIED, a non-profit educational foundation, has been dedicated to supporting over 13,000 underprivileged Malaysian students through loans and scholarships, enabling them to pursue higher education both locally and abroad.
On April 26th, 2024, MIED successfully held its Cheque Presentation Ceremony at Dewan Sri Siantan, Putrajaya. The event was notably officiated by our Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, marking the first time in history that our Prime Minister has presided over this significant occasion. We are honoured to have achieved this milestone.
The ceremony spotlighted reports and reflections on MIED’s remarkable accomplishments, illustrating the organisation’s vital role in empowering deserving students and fostering educational development.
During the event, several key reports were presented:
Table 1 combines the total disbursed amounts for both Study Loans and Scholarships; a total of 671 students received disbursements amounting to approximately RM15 million. In 2023, 518 students benefited from combined loans and scholarships totalling around RM17 million.

Table 2 summarizes the total scholarships awarded this year, with a breakdown by course. A total of 585 students received disbursements amounting to approximately RM13 million. In comparison, 394 students received scholarships totalling about RM15 million last year.

Table 3 details the total study loan awarded to a total of 86 students received disbursements amounting to approximately RM 1.6 million. In comparison, 128 students received scholarships totalling about RM2 million last year.

Additionally, 584 students from AIMST University, demonstrating exceptional merit, have been awarded scholarships. As detailed in Table 4, MIED granted a total of RM13 million in scholarships to these outstanding students.
