At the start of the year 2020 when the new coronavirus was first discovered, it was unclear how widely it would spread or what its eventual impact would be. This naturally led to a sense of fear and even paranoia for public health officials, policymakers, and investors. With limited knowledge of the virus and few tools to combat it, many parts of the country were forced to suddenly shut down despite the personal and economic consequences. While the year that was 2020 immediately conjures words like “challenge,” “hardship” and “crisis,” MIED have bounced back with excellent recovery of collection to stand with our motto and obligation to uplift educational of Indian students mainly in Malaysia.

The MIED Cheque Presentation Ceremony was held successfully on 26th of December 2020 at Galaxy Banquet Hall, HGH Conversation Centre, Jalan Sentul, Kuala Lumpur with very strict SOP to combat Covid-19 pandemic.

This ceremony was fascinated under the auspices of YB Datuk’ Seri M Saravanan, Human Resources Minister & MIED Board of Trustees, who presented cheques to eligible and deserving students. Parents, students, Member of MIED Board of Trustees, MIC Central Working Committee members, Management and staff of MIED was also present on the occasion.

For year 2020, MIED was great privileged to disbursed study loan & Scholarships in total amounting RM 3,356,505.00 to 301 students to pursue their tertiary both locally as well as aboard.

From RM 3,356,505.00, 120 students from AIMST University exclusively received RM 1,282,940.00 as a scholarships from various science programmes such as Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry. This will be 38.00 % from total study loan disbursement for the year 2020.
