Recovery

Many loan-providing institutions face the problem of loan defaulters, and MIED is no exception. However, in the case of MIED, when borrowers default on their loan payments, it directly affects the resources available for future loan recipients. If left unaddressed, this could have adverse implications on MIED’s role as a provider of financial assistance to needy Indian students.

To address this challenge, the Loan Recovery Department has implemented various strategies to reduce default rates and improve collections, ensuring the sustainability of MIED’s education assistance programmes.

MIED has successfully recovered a total of RM 177.6 million, strengthening its ability to continue supporting future students through sustainable education financing.
